On Responsive Layout and Grids

This is a FANTASTIC way to do responsive grids. So simple & flexible as compared to other approaches that rely on a great deal of presentational CSS classes and lots of extra markup (i.e. Twitter Bootstrap).

I had been doing something similar to this myself, but I was missing the negative margin part – that’s brilliant. So you no longer need to style the last column in a row differently than the others (which either requires a special class & maybe JavaScript or using CSS pseudo selectors that don’t work on old browsers).

I am so glad I stumbled across this post via Responsive Design Weekly. Could not have happened at a more opportune time since I’m just about to start a new project.
